The Royal Air Force celebrated RAF100 in style at this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo, which took place between 13-15 July at RAF Airbase at Fairford in Gloucestershire.
Royal International Air Tattoo 2018
The airshow, which was the official ‘international’ celebration of the RAF’s centenary, showcased a Royal Review of aircraft and parade from the Queen’s Colour Squadron, as well as a series of spectacular flypasts and displays to commemorate the anniversary.
On the ground, visitors could see past and present RAF aircraft up close and learn more about the RAF in the ‘RAF Experience’.
We were on hand to help the airbase look stunning and create an enhanced experience for visitors. We provided twenty-two of our giant 48 sheet temporary billboards, 2 large super-graphics, we also deployed 130 flags and poles from 6m to 12m, wayfinding and information systems, hundreds of meters of barrier jackets and heras fence scrim, which all contributed to bringing the 18 000 m2 site to life.
We have been working on the show for 14 consecutive years delivering the look programme for the whole Royal Airforce Base and have used this experience and knowledge to help create an unforgettable show for visitors and all involved.
A record crowd of 185,000 people attended RAF Fairford to enjoy a feast of flying, with the Royal International Air Tattoo staging international celebrations to mark the momentous occasion of the Royal Air Force’s Centenary.
In total, 302 aircraft, from 43 air arms representing 30 nations attended the airshow, of which 121 took part in the flying display.
