Drawing on our experience of delivering the look and feel and wayfinding programmes for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, we set about delivering the look of the Baku 2015 European Games.
Baku 2015 European Games
Project Overview
We were tasked with creating an iconic look that could be rolled out across all touchpoints of the Games, including 17 sporting venues, five non-competition venues, road based event locations and around the city centre. The key objective was to come up with a design that reflected the philosophy of the Games, celebrated Baku as a city, maximised broadcast and sponsor impact and elevated the spectator and viewer experience of the Games.
Process
With just a five-month lead time to plan a look programme and produce all branding items, we embedded a core team of 26 branding experts in Baku to co-ordinate and project manage the delivery of the entire project. We worked closely with the organising committee, crew members and local authorities to establish a clear logistics operation plan that would ensure the timely and quality delivery of the look of the Games.
