For the first time, Lollapalooza Berlin was held at the Olympic Stadium and we brought it to life with large impactful graphics.
Lollapalooza Berlin at the Olympic Stadium
Project Overview
Lollapalooza Berlin is a two-day music festival that has been held annually in Germany since 2015. In 2018, the festival returned to the capital after a year away, for the first time being held at the Olympic Stadium and we were there to make sure the stadium was looking its best with eye-catching banners.
Over 5 days we installed 57 large PVC mesh banners, observing the listed building rules of the stadium and using the fixings and brackets we developed for the FIFA World Cup in 2006. The banners showed artwork designed to refer to the main musical acts performing at the festival.
Additionally, to the external stadium branding, Lollapalooza required last-minute flags to go outside of the venue. In total, we created and installed 64 banners around the stadium which helped enhance the atmosphere even before people got into the venue.
Outcome
With stadium looking spectacular, the client was delighted with our work. Over the two days that the festival was live, 140,000 spectators came to the stadium and watched 60 acts live, including the likes of well-known DJs, Armin van Buuren and David Guetta, as well as Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd.
