Live, branding, experiences and events agency CSM Live is proud to announce its partnership with The Future Forest Company, a UK based organisation that exists to remove carbon dioxide at scale from the atmosphere using nature based solutions, such as reforestation, natural regeneration and regenerative agriculture practices. Since 2020, they have acquired 3,000 hectares of degraded land across Scotland and Northern England, and are on their way to sequestering 1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2030.
Additionally, The Future Forest Company is developing carbon sequestration technologies like biochar and enhanced weathering – these are nature based techniques that will lock away carbon permanently and enable companies to meet their net-zero commitments.
To kick-start the partnership, at CSM Live we have planted our first 1,000 trees on the Isle of Mull, in the Scottish Hebrides and have committed to planting 18,000 trees by the end of the year. Environmental sustainability is an important part of our business, in all areas from design to manufacture to logistics to product waste. Significant investment has been made in this area with the appointment of Alan Tebbutt, Head of Environmental Procurement in 2019 and Dominique Santini, Sustainability Manager who was appointed earlier this year.
Last year, we continued to make significant steps in our goal to be net zero, this included introducing initiatives such as updating packaging processes so only what is needed is used; removing the use of plastic tape and replacing it with paper; and using recyclable and recycled bubble wrap.
“Environmental sustainability is a vital part of our business mindset and we are continuously striving to develop and implement more environmentally-conscious practices across the organisation. CSM have committed to setting Science-based Targets as a pathway to Net Zero by 2030 and are proud to be participating in regeneration initiatives in addition to these efforts. We are delighted to be partnering with The Future Forest Company, and planting our first 1,000 trees is one of the many exciting steps on our journey to becoming a better business.”
Jim Mann, CEO at The Future Forest Company, also stated: ”At The Future Forest Company we have two key environmental pillars; to deliver projects that fulfil their carbon sequestration potential whilst also maximising the positive ecological impact of our land restoration. Removing CO2 is vital, but we must also fight to restore biodiversity across our projects.”
