The 2018 Lidl Football Zones kicked off in style with perfect sunny weather in Cardiff over the weekend.
After a hugely successful campaign in 2017, the Lidl Football Zones have returned for 2018. The events aim to promote Lidl’s partnership with The FA, The Scottish FA and The Football Association of Wales and their grassroots football programmes.
The first event in Cardiff on 21st April saw many parents and children engaging with the experience, sampling Lidl products and having a go on the Trolley Chip Challenge and Beat the Keeper activities. Additionally, this year we have introduced an NSPCC presence to the Football Zones to help raise awareness of Lidl’s newly formed national partnership with the charity. The NSPCC stand included a Big Dreams wall, garden games and face painting that was very popular among children.
The Cardiff Football Zone was made even more popular by the appearance of Daniel James, a professional footballer from Swansea City FC, who interacted with many of the children and even showed off his skills on the Trolley Chip and Beat the Keeper activities.
James, who recently received his first senior call up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Serbia, joined Lidl Play More Football coaches from The Football Association of Wales and gave children in attendance the guidance of where to further their footballing education.
2018 is all set to be another fun filled football experience for Lidl and their consumers. A full list of this year’s Lidl Football Zones can be seen below:
