CSM LIVE LANDS PAN AMERICAN GAMES BRIEF

CSM Live has been appointed to work on both the Pan American and Parapan American Games taking place in Lima, Peru, this summer.

This follows a competitive tender process, conducted according to strict Peruvian procurement laws, through which we benefitted from the Department of International Trade (DIT) support.

Our work on the Games will include scoping all venues, both competition and non-competition, and developing the Look and Feel and Wayfinding concepts.

We will oversee on-site production and installation delivered predominantly by local companies as part of a knowledge-sharing process designed to leave a positive legacy for the local business sector and communities.

Prior to the tender process, we attended two DIT trade missions to Lima, along with two independently organised visits in 2017 and 2018 with the aim of building relationships, knowledge and confidence ahead of the pitch.

Commenting on the contract award, Minister of State for Trade and Export Promotion, Baroness Fairhead said:

“I am delighted to see that CSM Live is joining so many UK companies by growing their business through exporting – and offer congratulations to them for winning this contract to support the 2019 Pan American Games and Parapan American Games in Lima."

“The Department for International Trade stands ready to help businesses like CSM Live through our Export Strategy, which includes encouraging businesses to export, providing practical information, connecting UK businesses to overseas buyers and providing support through our award-winning export credit agency, UK Export Finance.”

Giles Stanford, our Director of Global Events, added: “It’s an honour to be involved in the largest sporting event ever held in Peru. We’re already set up and working in this amazing country, using our expertise to ensure that Lima looks amazing.”

The Pan American Games in Lima will see 6,680 athletes from 41 different nations of the Americas, competing in 39 different sports from July 26th to August 11th.

The event will be followed by the 2019 Parapan American Games involving 1,890 Para athletes across 17 Para sports and 18 disciplines.
